We would like to hear your thoughts about MVC's inspection system and our plans for improving it. Your opinion matters to us.

To help you better understand the issues involved, we have provided additional information below. In particular, we are looking for feedback on the following issues:

1. Should the program design be a Centralized Inspection Facility (CIF) only, a Private Inspection Facility (PIF) only or continue with the current system?
2. If a CIF program is part of the design, should the CIF be state or contractor operated?
3. Should safety inspections be separated from emissions inspections?
4. Should the Vehicle Inspection Database (VID) be separated from the emissions/safety contract? If separated, should the VID be State or contractor operated?
5. Do you have any other suggestions regarding MVC’s inspection system?
