National Cancer Registrars AssociationThe mission of the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) is to promote education, credentialing, and advocacy for cancer registry professionals. NCRA promotes accurate, timely data as mandated by federal and state law for cancer research and other uses of clinical data. The NCRA is the professional organization of those in the cancer registration and surveillance discipline. Chartered in May 1974 and incorporated in October 1976, NCRA is a nonprofit, professional organization with almost 4,500 members representing the various types of institutions that have an interest in cancer management. NCRA's liaisons provide representation to other professional, government, and non-profit organizations that may impact the cancer registry profession, cancer control, and surveillance. Partnership ActivitiesCDC provides funds to support NCRA's annual conference. This conference advances professional development by providing an educational opportunity for cancer registrars from hospital-based and central cancer registries to increase their knowledge and improve their professional expertise.
