Asian and Pacific Islander American Health ForumThe mission of the Asian and Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) is to promote improvement in the health status of all Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. Founded in 1986, the APIAHF is a national advocacy organization dedicated to promoting policy, program, and research efforts for improving the health status of all Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. The APIAHF envisions a multicultural society where the Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities are included and represented in all health, political, social, and economic arenas. The Asian and Pacific Islander National Cancer Survivors Network (APICSN) is among the activities of the APIAHF. APICSN includes cancer survivors and their families and friends, health care providers, researchers, and other community members. This network focuses on outreach, collaboration, and advocacy to address the needs of and minimize the burdens facing AAPI cancer survivors and their families by dispelling myths, reducing disparities, and providing hope. Partnership ActivitiesCDC has recently funded the APIAHF for a five-year period to support the APAIHF's AAPI Cancer Survivors Capacity Building Project. The project will improve cancer prevention, early detection, and survivorship among the AAPI population.
