Common Alerting Protocol (CAP)

EPA's implementation of the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP). CAP is an open, non-proprietary digital message format for all types of alerts and notifications. It is a simple but general format for exchanging all-hazard emergency alerts and public warnings over all kinds of networks. CAP allows a consistent warning message to be disseminated simultaneously over many different warning systems, thus increasing warning effectiveness while simplifying the warning task.

EPA's EnviroFlash Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ) notifies its program and program sub-classification users of updates and changes.
