Number of Days Ozone Health Advisory Issued
(5/1/07 - 9/30/07)

*Ozone values above 84 ppb exceed the ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard of 0.08 ppm.
† Health advisories were issued at these National Park Service areas based on State and local advisory forecasts. However, the measured ozone concentration in the Park may not exceed the 8-hr average ozone standard.

The 8-hour ozone health standard can be exceeded anytime during a 24-hour day time period. Ozone health advisories are initiated during the daylight hours, therefore it is possible that the ozone health standard is exceeded at an area and an ozone health advisory is not issued.

Mammoth Cave NP – there were five days when health advisories were issued at the park. Four days the advisories were for fine particulate matter (less than 2.5 microns) conditions only and one day the advisory was for ozone conditions only.

Great Smoky Mountains NP – there were four days when health advisories were issued at the park. Two days the advisories were for fine particulate matter (less than 2.5 microns) conditions only and two days the advisories were for ozone conditions only.
