Detailed Forecast Discussion |
Today and tomorrow, a strong upper-level ridge of high pressure will limit vertical mixing over the Sacramento region. Furthermore, cool overnight temperatures will lead to a strong temperature inversion, trapping pollutants near the surface. These conditions, combined with light winds throughout the day, will lead to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups particle levels on both days. Friday, despite light northerly winds dispersing some pollutants in the afternoon, high pollutant carryover from previous days will keep particle levels in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range. |
