Rockefeller Sworn in for Fifth Term, Continues Fight for West Virginia
Washington, D.C. - Senator Jay Rockefeller was sworn in on January 6th for his fifth term in the United States Senate and vowed to continue fighting for West Virginians. Rockefeller, who has been named Chairman of the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, said that over the coming six years, much of his focus will be on ways to revive the economy and help people who are struggling in this economic crisis.
"It is my profound honor to begin my fifth term in the United States Senate, to continue fighting for my fellow West Virginians and take on my new role as chairman of the Commerce Committee," Rockefeller said. "We are facing an economic crisis of extraordinary proportions, and our first priority must be to come together to jump-start our economy and help hurting families.
