WESTERN RECOGNIZES FOLSOM RESIDENT FOR EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE

LAKEWOOD, Colo.—Folsom resident Deb Dietz will receive Western Area Power Administration's highest honor at a ceremony May 25 at Western's Sierra Nevada Regional Office, in Folsom, Calif. Western's Administrator Mike Hacskaylo will present Dietz with Western's Exceptional Service Award during the ceremony.

"I congratulate Deb Dietz for making outstanding contributions to Western. Dietz exemplifies the values we have outlined in our People Goal by serving her customers and peers with great dedication. Her multiple accomplishments remind us of the wide reach our organization has in our industry, our service territory and our nation," Hacskaylo said.

Dietz began her Federal career in the Air Force and then joined Western in 1979 as a clerk typist. She worked her way up in the Rates office and became the manager in 1996.

As SN's Rates manager in Folsom, Dietz earns the award for her expertise in developing innovative rates and rate structure that allow Western to meet its obligations, while balancing customer desires for level funding in an uncertain environment.

She has done so while incorporating customer input on how the rates are structured in keeping with Western's Strategic Goals of providing exemplary customer service and working to protect and maximize the value of the Federal resource.

When SN's long standing contract with Pacific Gas and Electric ended in 2004, Dietz stepped up to the plate to create a new rate structure with several individual rates for specific products and services.

In her spare time, Dietz enjoys playing golf.
