Lead Safe Building Maintenance
Practices Training
Rutgers, the State University Trainings
In May of 2005, New Jersey adopted regulations
requiring the lead-safe maintenance of multi-family rental
housing constructed prior to 1978. All individuals performing
work on pre-1978 multi-family rental housing are required
to complete a one-day course on lead-safe building maintenance
practices and applicable NJ law. For a limited time only,
the Department of Community Affairs will sponsor this training
and offer the course at a reduced rate of $35 per student.
Failure to use properly trained individuals to perform work
on pre-1978 multi-family rental housing will be a violation
of N.J.A.C. 5:10-6.6(g) and may result in monetary penalties.
