Helpful Tips for International Training and Education

As part of the U.S. government’s ongoing public education program, free educational and training materials in more than 20 languages have been provided to businesses, organizations, law enforcement, financial institutions and the general public to use when training cash handlers about the recent changes to U.S. currency.

Below is a list of helpful suggestions for teaching cash handlers about the changes to U.S. currency.

Individual Materials. Order free education and training materials for all of your employees. For international customers: Please review special instructions for shipping prior to placing an order.

Downloadable Materials. Create a suite of downloadable training materials on your company’s intranet/internal Web site for easy access.

Training Seminar. Host a training seminar at your business or organization where employees or members can view training videos and Podcasts specifically designed for cash handlers, law enforcement and financial institutions.

Interactive Training. Host a training seminar at your business or organization where employees or members use the interactive banknote to learn about the new banknote’s design features. The interactive banknote is also useful as a self-guided training tool, so you may wish to provide employees with the Web site address and ask them to self-train with the interactive banknote.

Display Materials. Display training materials in company break rooms, loss prevention and human resource offices.

Communicate the News. Insert an image of the redesigned banknote with instructional tips for identifying the new security features in your company or organization newsletter.

Link to Web Site. Place the image of the new banknote or add a link to the www.moneyfactory.gov/newmoney Web site on the home page of your company or organization intranet or Web site.

Real Notes. Provide employees with actual old and new U.S. currency so they can examine the differences.

Hear. See. Touch. Plan training seminars where employees can become familiar with the banknote’s features by using three of their senses: hearing, sight, and touch. Employees can listen to a trainer review the new design features, see the new banknotes to learn how to use the security features, and receive individual training materials.

Train the Trainer. Use company meetings and retreats to hand out education materials and educate managers on U.S. currency design changes. Challenge them to pass on information to their colleagues.
