This article by Avia Collinder of the Jamaica Gleaner spotlights Sandra Stevens, a 70-year-old mental health therapist from Pennsylvania who is currently serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Jamaica.

Stevens talks about her experience as a teacher in a rural town, her pen pal project between students in her local school and students in Portland Oregon, and her goal of exposing students and local community members alike to the Internet.

Stevens also speaks of the challenge of learning a local language and working in crowded classrooms, as well as the rewards of Peace Corps service. Says Stevens, "For me personally, it was a way to do something I always wanted to do, and also extend my working life in a new, creative way."
