Patricia Gail Synnott, 23, resident of Dartmouth, Mass., is soon to leave the comforts of home to work with at-risk youth as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Peru.

Says Synnott, "I have always wanted to travel to a foreign country and really learn the customs and the language. I have dreamt of traveling to Latin America since my first Spanish class in eighth grade," Ms. Synnott said. "Because the Peace Corps enables its volunteers to reach both these objectives while doing a great service to humanity, I decided to apply."

To learn more about Synott's journey, and about the Peace Corps program in Peru, please visit the southcoasttoday.com website.
