Western names CIO

Lakewood, Colo.-Western's Administrator Michael S. Hacskaylo announced today the selection of J. Eun Moredock as the agency's new chief information officer.

Moredock currently is the Metrics Program Office chief for the Defense Information Systems Agency-Western Hemisphere. She previously led DISA WESTHEM's Fee-for-Service and Enterprise Systems Management branches. At the Defense Department's Office of Civilian Health and Medical Program for the Uniformed Services she served as chief of the Technical Support and Data Systems branches and successfully managed multi-million dollar IT projects.

Earlier in her career, she worked as a principal project lead and as a senior computer specialist for Mineral's Management Service. Moredock's educational background includes a master's degree in technology management and a bachelor's degree in mathematics with a computer science emphasis.

She joins Western April 9.

Western Area Power Administration is one of four Federal power marketing administrations. Annually it markets and transmits more than 10,000 megawatts of power from hydroelectric power plants owned and operated by the Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 15 central and western states. Western's wholesale customers include rural cooperatives, municipalities, Indian tribes and other nonprofit entities.
