Verification of Infectious Disease Molecular Assays (DVD)
Course Number: DV1396
This one-hour, intermediate-level program provides clinical and public health laboratory scientists with information on infectious disease molecular assay verification procedures and processes. It lists and defines the CLIA requirements, and provides guidance and suggestions on compliance. The program uses a case study approach to describe how one laboratory team established the performance specifications for an in-house developed assay and verified the manufacturers performance specifications for an FDA-cleared assay. It concludes with suggestions on how to report results from in-house developed assays that use analyte specific reagents (ASRs). Exceptions to the requirements that may apply to public health laboratories during public health emergencies are outlined. Learners test their comprehension and competency by completing a self-study worksheet and a post-test TARGET AUDIENCE: This program is targeted to clinical and public health laboratory scientists MATERIALS: DVD and self-study worksheet
