Communicating Air Quality
Ambient Air Monitoring

March 2-5, 2009
Intercontinental Dallas, Addison, Texas

***Deadline for Submission: January 8, 2009***
Please send submittals to NAQCabstracts@epa.gov

The 2009 National Air Quality Conferences, sponsored by EPA and the National Association of Clean Air Agencies (NACAA), are a must for air quality professionals from federal, state, local and tribal air pollution organizations, metropolitan and regional planning organizations, environmental and research organizations, and industry representatives. These conferences provide a unique opportunity to hear the latest information on air quality forecasting and mapping, ambient air monitoring, air quality and your health, and innovative outreach programs.

NEW FORMAT FOR 2009

This year, the conferences will feature optional sessions on Monday, including air quality forecasting training, a session on communications skills, and a workshop on ambient air monitoring. The general program will begin on Tuesday with an opening plenary session, followed by two days of focused breakout sessions; exhibits; and a poster session. Wednesday afternoon will feature a plenary session, and the conference will adjourn early afternoon Thursday. Optional field trips are being planned for Thursday afternoon. Come share your experiences and knowledge, network with colleagues, and learn about new and innovative projects at our exhibits and poster area.

If you are interested in participating in the National Air Quality Conferences as a speaker or poster presenter, please complete the “Speaker and Poster Proposal Submittal Form”(doc) and e-mail it to NAQCabstracts@epa.gov by January 8, 2009. The topic areas we are accepting proposals for are listed below.

***NOTE*** We would like to feature a student poster section, and encourage students to submit abstracts for consideration on any of the conference topics.

Abstracts will be reviewed by the joint EPA & NACAA conference planning committee. Submissions will be judged on the quality and merit of their content, the clarity of their composition, and their relevance to the indicated conference topic area. Please note that, depending upon the number of submissions received, we may not be able to accommodate all submissions.

Speakers whose abstracts are selected will be contacted by the session chairperson and receive a packet of detailed information. Selected poster presenters will be sent a package with information on display size, set up, shipping, and other logistical information. The formal poster session will be held during the Tuesday evening reception and the posters will remain on view through Wednesday afternoon.
