The Uniform Call Reports can be generated in two Web page formats: HTML and DHTML. The differences between the two formats are discussed below.

HTML format
The HTML format is a plain version of the report that is easy to print from the browser and download to your computer for use in other applications. HTML reports can be printed directly from the browser by clicking on the browser's print button. The drawback is that when printing HTML reports some of the report formatting is lost, which affects the readability of the report. For example, HTML reports do not contain page breaks. Another advantage of an HTML report is that it is easy to navigate through the report because it is a single Web page. The HTML format is also the format to use if you want to use the report in another application such as Microsoft Excel or Word. The reports can be saved in HTML format and then opened in any application that can read HTML. To save a report in HTML format:

  1. Select HTML for the output format.

  2. Generate the report.

  3. Choose File, Save As from the browser's menu bar.

DHTML format
The DHTML format is the version to use when the appearance of the printed report is important. DHTML reports faithfully reproduce the report by creating the report in a format that can be transferred to a PDF file. The drawback is that DHTML reports CANNOT be printed using the print button on the browser, plus there are several steps involved in creating the PDF file. Printing is accomplished by clicking the "Download/Print" button on the navigation bar as shown below. As the name implies the "Download/Print" button can also be used to create a PDF file and directly save it without opening it.

Another drawback is that DHTML reports display only one page at a time and navigation must be done through the navigation bar as shown below. The NavBar button is useful for navigating the All Schedules Report.

To print/save a report in PDF format:

  1. Select DHTML for the report format.

  2. Generate the report.

  3. Click "Download/Print" on the navigation bar.

  4. Choose which pages of the report to save or print. The default selection is to save/print all pages of the report.

  5. Click the Save PDF button to save the report in PDF format, or click the View PDF button to view the report in a separate window with Adobe Acrobat Reader. You may have the option to save the report in PDF format from Adobe Acrobat Reader.
