Student Programs at LANL

At LANL you will have the opportunity to work with people who find intrigue and fulfillment in science and to make research and development contributions in a broad spectrum of science disciplines.

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is located at the base of the Jemez Mountains in northern New Mexico. Established in 1943, the Laboratory is managed by the University of California for the Department of Energy.

Our vision is to serve the nation by developing and applying the best of science and technology to make the world a better and safer place.

The Lab offers many student programs designed to mentor and educate high school, college, and graduate students from around the country.

Younger students can gain valuable work experience as they learn about a variety of technical and administrative careers. Older students can jump-start into a professional career while still working on their educations. In some cases, students can work on their thesis research here at LANL.
