Information Management Program

High-quality water inventory and monitoring data are vital to the characterization and protection of NPS waters and watersheds.

The NPS Information Management Program supports parks in the analysis and archiving of hydrologic data. This includes database design, data management, and GIS applications. Program staff recommend standards for hydrographic data sets, compile waterbody inventories for parks, maintain a national water quality database, identify national water quality issues and assist in acquiring digital hydrographic data.
