Eligibility: The New Jersey Lottery Opt-In Drawing is open to individuals 18 years of age or older. To participate in this drawing, an individual must be a registered member of the New Jersey Lottery VIP Club via the Lottery website at www.njlottery.net, have chosen to receive special emails from the New Jersey Lottery and have a valid email address. To be entered into an Opt-In drawing, members must open the Opt-In drawing email and prior to the announced opt-in close date click on the link to be entered into that particular drawing. AOL members may have their links disabled by default. To change this default setting and enable the Opt-In link they should click AOL's 'enable links and images' link. Emails and Drawings will be scheduled at the discretion of the Director. Member's opting-in after the closing of the opt-in period may be notified with an "Offer Expired" message and will not be eligible for that drawing. All members must be deemed as active and have a valid email address. Members whose Opt-in Drawing notification emails are returned to the New Jersey Lottery as "undeliverable" for any reason will not be eligible for this drawing. The New Jersey Lottery is not responsible should the return transmission of the submission of the opt-in response to the New Jersey Lottery be unsuccessful due to technical issues.
Winners will be selected from all VIP Club members who opted-in for the drawing on or before the opt-in date specified. The drawing will be observed and certified by Mercadien, P.C., an independent auditing firm, who will randomly select one (1) drawing each month for auditor attendance. Drawings are scheduled for 10:00 am at Lottery Headquarters. The independent auditor must be present at Lottery headquarters at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled drawing time. If the independent auditor is not present within the scheduled time frame, the Lottery will determine that the independent auditor has not selected the drawing for observation and can proceed accordingly.
Entry Rules and Regulations: Free registration for the VIP Club is available on the Internet at njlottery.net. Individuals must register for membership by completing the registration form and providing all required information. Opt-in drawing emails will be sent to all VIP Club members who have selected the option of receiving special emails as a criterion when registering or updating their profile and who have done so in time for the particular drawing being held. Commissioners or Employees of the New Jersey Lottery and their immediate families, its direct vendors, its advertising agency, New Jersey Office of Information Technology and New Jersey Lottery sales retailers are not eligible to win. Entrants agree to full compliance with all New Jersey Lottery VIP Club Opt- In Drawing Rules and Regulations as set forth. VIP members must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
Grand Prize Taxes: Winners are responsible for applicable Federal taxes on the value of the prizes. Non-New Jersey residents may be subject to applicable state and/or local taxes. New Jersey residents who win a New Jersey Lottery prize are not required to pay any New Jersey State income tax on their winnings.
Prize Selection: A drawing will be held on/or about specified date and will include all New Jersey Lottery VIP members who have opted-in on or before midnight of date of announced close of opt-in period. One (1) member of the VIP program who has opted-in will be randomly selected in a computer drawing. The winner will be notified by email and confirmed by telephone, if possible. Cash will not be awarded in lieu of prizes. Winner entry and acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use winners' names, photograph or their likeness for purposes of advertising, publicity or promotion on behalf of the New Jersey Lottery. The New Jersey Lottery Director reserves the right to replace a prize with another of equal dollar value. The New Jersey Lottery is not responsible for the cancellation or rescheduling of any events for which entrant tickets are awarded as a prize.
The New Jersey Lottery also reserves the right to reschedule any drawing times/dates and to change any other times and dates as necessary without advance notice. The Lottery Director reserves the right to modify any rule contained herein when circumstances warrant, and when it is in the best interests of the Lottery to do so.
Participants release and hold harmless the New Jersey State Lottery Commission, the State of New Jersey and their agents, employees, and representatives from any liability arising out of participation in this contest, or out of the use, misuse, or acceptance of a prize, and from any breach of obligation(s) by any third party(s).
Odds: Each opt-in has an equal chance to win Prize. Odds of winning depend on the number of registered VIP Members who opted-in by specified date.
