STATE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING CALENDAR

The Commission has 51 State Advisory Committees--one for each State and the District of Columbia. Each is composed of citizens familiar with local and State civil rights issues. The members serve without compensation and assist the Commission with its fact-finding, investigative, and information dissemination functions.

South Carolina SAC

The South Carolina Advisory Committee to the Commission will convene at 1:00 PM and adjourn at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in the Board Room of the Manor House, 316 Senate St., Columbia, South Carolina, 29201. The purpose of the meeting is to provide ethics training and orientation to the members, discuss past projects, and plan future projects.

Rhode Island SAC

May 14, 2008

The Rhode Island Advisory Committee to the Commission will convene at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the Urban League of Rhode Island, located at 246 Prairie Ave. in Providence Rhode Island, for an orientation and planning meeting. The purpose of these meetings is to provide an orientation to new members and plan future activities of the committee. After the meeting, the committee will hear from presenters who will discuss fair housing issues in Rhode Island.

Missouri SAC

May 22, 2008

The Missouri Advisory Committee to the Commission will convene by conference call at 10:00 a.m. and adjourn at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2008. The purpose of this meeting is to conduct SAC orientation and plan future activities. 

 

This meeting is available to the public through the following toll-free call-in number: (866) 364-7584, conference call access code number 42559706.  Any interested member of the public may call this number and listen to the meeting. Callers can expect to incur charges for calls they initiate over wireless lines, and the Commission will not refund any incurred charges. Callers will incur no charge for calls they initiate over land-line connections to the toll-free telephone number. Persons with hearing impairments may also follow the proceedings by first calling the Federal Relay Service at 1-800-977-8339 and providing the Service with the conference call number and contact name Farella E. Robinson.

Tennessee SAC

June 9, 2008

The Tennessee Advisory Committee to the Commission will convene at 1:00 PM and adjourn at 4:00 PM on Monday, June 9, 2008, at the Hamilton County Commissioner Conference Room, 25 Georgia Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee.   The purpose of the meeting is to receive a briefing on fair housing enforcement in Tennessee and discuss the Committee’s project on fair housing enforcement.
