SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State of Utah have established a special toll-free phone number to answer questions from tornado-affected residents in Salt Lake County regarding disaster assistance.

Representatives from FEMA are available at 1-800-525-0321 to answer questions about the assistance process, including the status of applications. The TTY number for those with a speech and/or hearing impairment is 1-800-462-7585. Helpline representatives are available Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Before calling the Helpline, area residents in the disaster declared county are urged to first register with FEMA by calling 1-800-462-9029. Those with a speech and/or hearing impairment can register by TTY at 1-800-462-7585.
