NCPTT's materials research program is continuing to investigate new technologies by hosting a visit of representatives from Hybrid Plastics. The company specializes in new resin and plastics based on new chemical technology, Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane or POSS. The new systems allow for the development of custom polymers that are more stable to temperature and light. NCPTT hopes to use POSS systems to develop new adhesives for preservation applications.
