NCPTT interns Stace Miller and Bilal Khurshid were acknowledged for their research and professional presentations at NSU's Annual College of Science and Technology banquet. Miller received a certificate for an American Chemical Society (ACS) presentation and Outstanding ACS student chapter. She was also recognized with a cash award as the 2008 Outstanding Math Major. Khurshid was also recognized for an American Chemical Society (ACS) presentation.

Additionally, NCPTT intern Anna Johnson, a high-school junior at the Louisiana School for Math, Sciences and the Arts, received first place in the regional science competition for her work using portable X-ray Fluorescence to study Colonial pottery. The award for this honor is a trip to Atlanta to compete in the National Science competition.
