MEDLINEplus is the US National Library of Medicine's Web site for consumer health information. Built with an Oracle database and Cold Fusion application, MEDLINEplus offers a selective list of authoritative health information sources from NIH and other U.S. organizations. Health topics are the core of MEDLINEplus and are available from every page by category and letter of the alphabet. The health topics pages link to health information from NIH and other sources and also include a MEDLINE search. MEDLINEplus also provides access to dictionaries for finding definitions of medical terms; directories for finding doctors, dentists, hospitals, organizations providing information to consumers and clearinghouses that will send health literature to your home; online textbooks, newsletters and health news sources; databases of health information; and libraries for health consumers.
