The judging panel will use these general
guidelines to evaluate entries.
Background of
owners/developers/sponsors
Are the identity and affiliations of the
owner(s), developer(s), and/or sponsor(s) clearly stated?
If the application is related to a regulated
or licensed activity, e.g. dispensing prescriptions or selling regulated medical devices,
is relevant licensing or approval information clearly stated?
Is there a feedback mechanism?
Is contact information provided?
Purpose
Does the application state its specific
purpose, likely audience(s) and specific health issue(s) it addresses?
Does the applications purpose match the
likely audience(s)?
Content
Is the original source(s) of content
identified?
Is the original source(s) of the content
likely to be reliable and without bias?
Is the content updated regularly to ensure
that it is accurate and current?
Are the qualifications of those who contribute
content appropriate for the type of content?
Are advertising and sales clearly separated
from informational materials?
Are all conflicts of interest or biases that
might make the content suspect disclosed?
If a Web site, does it have a selection policy
for links to other sites?
Privacy, confidentiality, and
security
Is it possible to use the application
anonymously?
Does the application specify if and how
personal information is protected?
Does the application specify who has access to
information about its users?
Design
Is the application easy to use?
Is there a text only option?
Are technical barriers that might limit use
addressed (e.g. hardware requirements, extensive graphics, format incompatibilities)?
