Federal Career Intern Program

What is the Federal Career Intern Program (FCIP)?

This program is intended to be used for grades GS-5, 7 and 9 positions or other trainee positions appropriate for the program. FMS uses this program to recruit the following:

• Accountants
• Financial Program Specialists
• Computer Specialists
• Management Program Specialist
• Program Analysts

After successful completion of the program you may be converted non-competitively to a permanent position. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) approval is required to develop or extend internships beyond 2 years. In these cases, internships may be extended for up to 1 additional year.
