IRS Grants Tax Relief for Ivan’s Victims in New Jersey

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — The Internal Revenue Service today announced special tax relief for New Jersey taxpayers in the Presidential Disaster Area that was struck by Tropical Depression Ivan during the period Sept. 18 – Oct. 1, 2004.

The disaster area consists of four counties: Hunterdon, Mercer, Sussex and Warren.

  • The Federal Tax Deposit (FTD) Penalty Waiver Period for employment and excise tax deposits is Sept. 18 – Oct. 1, 2004.
  • The Extension Period for returns and other tax payments is Sept. 18 – Dec. 1, 2004.
  • The Disaster Designation for this area is “Ivan – NJ” — taxpayers mark certain relief-related forms with this designation in red.
