IRS Grants Tax Relief for Indiana Storm Victims

INDIANAPOLIS – The Internal Revenue Service today announced special tax relief for Indiana residents in the Presidential Disaster Area that was struck by storms, tornadoes and flooding during the period Aug. 26 – Sept. 15, 2003.

The disaster area counties are: Blackford, Boone, Clay, Delaware, Grant, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Jay, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Putnam, Randolph, and Shelby.

  • The Extension Date for the items described is Oct. 27, 2003.
  • The Designated Period for extensions is Aug. 26 through Oct. 27, 2003.
  • The Disaster Designation for this area is “August Tornadoes & Floods-IN” – taxpayers mark certain relief-related forms with this designation.
