Card Acquiring Service

New Application

In order to participate in the Card Acquiring Service, agencies must complete a Card Acquiring Service New Application and submit to FMS for approval. An application is required for:

  • New Accounts: includes agencies new to card processing and agencies wanting to begin card collections for a new cash flow*
  • New Locations: includes agencies requesting a new merchant ID for an existing cash flow
  • Internet Processing: includes establishing processing with Pay.gov

*New Accounts are also required to complete an Agency Participation Agreement

Turnaround time for FMS application approval is approximately two weeks. Once approved by FMS, your application will be sent to Fifth Third Bank for processing.

Fifth Third will set up the merchant account(s) and contact your agency with any additional questions. Your new account information will then be provided to you.
