Age-Adjusted Hospital Discharge Rates for Diabetic Ketoacidosis as First-Listed Diagnosis per 10,000 Population, United States, 1980–2005

Age-adjusted hospital discharge rates for diabetic ketoacidosis as first-listed diagnosis per 10,000 population increased about 30% from 1980 (2.8 per 10,000 population) through 1986 (3.6 per 10,000 population) and then showed little change until 1999 when a slight increasing trend is observed.
