Adaptations in Design Workshop: Built for the Bayou

Architecture & Engineering encourages research and partnerships with organizations and institutions working to advance preservation technology for buildings and other structures.Tarp New Orleans.

NCPTT’s Architecture & Engineering goals are:

  • To transfer technologies and technical information among agencies and organizations, and between professional disciplines.
  • To disseminate research results towards increasing access to technology and expertise relevant to the built environment.
  • To provide on-site training programs aimed at scholars and professionals in practice.

Meeting the Needs of Preservation

In addition to our efforts in preservation education, we are searching for ways to combine sustainable design and preservation. The environmental impact of pollution on the built environment is one of NCPTT’s research priorities.

Interpreting this broadly, Architecture and Engineering is focusing on sustainable practices that can greatly reduce the effects of the built environment on the natural world. Through this initiative NCPTT aims to unite proponents of preservation and of the sustainable design movement.
