Celebrating 50 Years
In 2011 Peace Corps will celebrate its 50th anniversary. To commemorate these 50 years of service and to honor the individuals who have dedicated themselves to promoting the organization's mission of world peace and friendship, the Peace Corps is helping organize events and exhibitions in cities across the U.S. and in each country where Peace Corps currently serves. Attend 50th Anniversary Events
Join in celebrating the Peace Corps' first 50 years while looking ahead to the next 50. Events range from a two-year traveling exhibition beginning in 2009 to a multi-day festival on the National Mall in Washington, DC in September 2011.

Coming soon: Contribute to the 50th Anniversary Archive
Start combing through your old photo albums now. Over the next several months we will be collecting RPCV photos and stories that illustrate the rich history of the Peace Corps to add to our 50th anniversary archive digital library. Check back soon for more information on how to submit your materials. Meanwhile, take a look at some suggestions for ways that RPCVs and affiliate groups can help document and preserve Peace Corps history.

In countries where Peace Corps Volunteers serve, we are planning both 50th anniversary events and a commemorative 50th Anniversary Partnership Program project.
