Calculated Beginning Balances for Edit 13

FACTS II Edit 13, the closing validation, will become a fatal edit first quarter 2009. FACTS II Edit 13 performs the closing entries according to the U.S. Standard General Ledger rules and calculates a beginning trial balance for all Treasury Appropriation Fund Symbols (TAFS) that should have one. It then compares the calculated amounts to the beginning balances submitted by the agency.

To assist agencies with Edit 13, the FACTS II calculated beginning balances for fiscal year 2009 are available in the following files, which are arranged by the two-digit department regular code. For example, all TAFS beginning with department regular code 12 are in one file while all TAFS beginning with department regular code 13 are in another file.
