National Trust/ACHP Award Presented

October 4, 2007—St. Paul, Minnesota—The National Trust for Historic Preservation/Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Award for Federal Partnerships in Historic Preservation was given to the Bureau of Land Management’s Anasazi Heritage Center and Canyons of the Ancients National Monument today during the Trust’s annual conference in St. Paul. ACHP Vice Chairman Susan Barnes presented the award.

The ACHP has a broad presence at the National Trust’s annual conference. This year, the ACHP:  hosted its two-day training course, “the Section 106 Essentials” to 65 people; offered a networking session to Preserve America Communities to learn about how to get the most out of their designation; presented a Preserve America Summit overview; and teamed up with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for a session discussing challenges presented by hurricane recovery in the Gulf Coast. The ACHP and Preserve America also had expansive booths in the conference’s exhibit hall showcasing the Preserve America Presidential Award winners and 2008 nomination forms and other publications and work of the agency.
