Besides making installment payments on time, the terms of an installment agreement require that all tax returns required be filed and payments (including any Estimated Tax payments or Federal Tax Deposits) due during the life of the agreement be made timely.

If taxes are owed because not enough money was withheld from wages, a lower number of withholding allowances should be claimed on Form W-4, Employees Withholding Allowance Certificate. Refer to, Publication 919, How Do I Adjust My Tax Withholding?
