OFAC recently added two new features to its Internet website to facilitate the public’s submission of requests for Cuba travel licenses and Requests for the Release of Blocked Wire Transfers PDF icon.   These new features incorporate voluntary use forms with two dimensional barcode technology.  This technology helps to speed up the processing time of these requests and enables OFAC to provide better customer service to the public.

OFAC is introducing a new automated application form for travel licenses other than those related to family visits and is automating the request to release blocked wire transfers form already available only in pdf printable format.  An applicant now has the option to fill out either form online, save the document if desired, and print the form to be signed and mailed to OFAC.   Links within the web application will direct applicants to information to assist in completing the forms if needed.  The public should note that the new Cuba Travel website, which is intended to facilitate applications to engage in Cuba travel-related transactions incident to, among others, religious activities, educational activities, professional research, meeting attendance, agriculture and medical sales, and humanitarian projects in Cuba, supplements OFAC’s existing Fast Request website, which has enabled OFAC to respond quickly to applications filed online for licenses under the family visit travel category.
