Hispanic Heritage Month 2007 Model Programs
Hispanic Americans are the largest minority population in our country, and this population is expected to continue to grow significantly. As the U.S. Administration on Aging (AoA) honors and celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 through October 15, 2007, we are pleased to highlight programs and initiatives in States, tribes and communities that are providing culturally relevant and appropriate information and services to Hispanic elders and their families. The Hispanic Heritage Month Model Programs selected focus on a variety of areas including evidence-based prevention and wellness and streamlined access to information and services. Several of the programs are funded through the Older Americans Act and support key AoA strategic objectives.
These Model Programs are only a representative sample of the wonderful work being done around the country to assist and engage Hispanic elderly.
