COTPER’s mission is to safeguard health and save lives by providing a flexible and robust platform for public health emergency response (proposed).

A video presentation of what CDC is doing to ensure you and your family are safer and healthier in these ever-changing times. Preparing people for emerging health threats is one of CDC's overarching goals.

COTPER Programs

  • Strategic National Stockpile
    A national repository of antibiotics, chemical antidotes, antitoxins, life-support medications, and medical supplies that can be used to supplement state and local resources during a large-scale public health emergency.
  • Office of Science and Public Health Practice
    Supports the infusion of science into public health emergency preparedness and response activities.
  • Meta-Leadership Summits for Preparedness
    A learning and networking opportunity designed to prepare business, government and nonprofit leaders to act together in times of crisis. Developed in partnership with the Harvard School of Public Health, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the CDC Foundation.
