Taxpayer Advocacy Panel 2006 Annual Report!

TAP is an independent federal advisory committee with almost 100 volunteer members from all over the country. These volunteers are appointed by the Secretary of the Treasury to listen to taxpayers, identify taxpayer issues, and make recommendations for improving the services the IRS provides to help people understand and more easily comply with their federal tax obligations.

The 2006 Annual Report highlights important actions of the Panel and summaries 58 new recommendations for improvement that TAP generated for IRS consideration in 2006.  The Report also provides an update on the status of 250 recommendations submitted to the IRS since TAP was established in 2002.

This report is a testament to the valuable partnership between TAP and the  IRS.  Through this partnership TAP has been able to make positive changes to improve the tax administration system on behalf of the American Taxpayers.
