	David Nebhut

David Nebhut
Director, Policy Analysis Division

David Nebhut is the director of the Policy Analysis Division for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

In that position, Mr. Nebhut oversees a staff of economists and policy analysts, who identify emerging issues of potential importance to the agency and support the development of policy related to those issues through the application of economic analysis and related tools. Their work includes short analytical reports in support of OCC supervisory and regulatory projects, longer research studies of policy issues, and internal economic consulting services on OCC operational issues. Among his duties, Mr. Nebhut represents the OCC on the Basel Supervisors Committee's Research Task Force.

Mr. Nebhut joined the OCC in 1980 as a financial economist. Previous positions at the OCC include director of the Economics and Evaluation Division and deputy comptroller for Economic and Policy Analysis. Prior to his work at the OCC, he taught economics at Northwestern University and worked for the Olin Chemical Company.

Mr. Nebhut received his bachelor's degree in economics with highest distinction from Pennsylvania State University in 1976 and completed his course work for a doctorate in economics at Northwestern University.
