White, Clark win Dew Tour events

Olympic gold medalist Shaun White won the men's superpipe final and hometown hero and fellow gold medalist Kelly Clark topped the women's field Sunday in the second stop of the inaugural Winter Dew Tour.

White's winning run included a backside rodeo 720, a backside 900, back-to-back 1080s into a 720. He finished with an alley-oop rodeo and scored 96.25.

Temecula rider's jump goes OK

Temecula stunt cyclist Robbie Maddison hopped 120 feet up and come down on top of a 96-foot high scale version of the Arc de Triomphe at Paris Las Vegas on Wednesday night -- a follow up to his record-breaking jump of more than 322 feet last year.

The 27-year-old freestyle motocross rider also dropped 50 feet off the Arc onto a landing ramp.


Mountain resorts ready to make their own fun

Yes, it's still T-shirt weather. But ski resorts throughout the region are ready to crank out some snow as soon as Mother Nature begins to cooperate.

"We're kind of all dressed up with nowhere to go," said Chris Riddle, marketing director at Big Bear Mountain Resorts. But all that's needed is a good cold snap and snow machines can start blowing.
