Subject:     Georgia Fair Lending Act
Description: Notice of Request for Preemption Determination or 
             Order

TO:  Chief Executive Officers of All National Banks, Department and 
Division Heads, All Examining Personnel and Other Interested Parties

The OCC has received a request from National City Bank, N.A., 
National City Bank of Indiana, N.A., and two operating subsidiaries 
of National City Bank of Indiana, N.A. (collectively, National City) 
for a determination or order under 12 USC 24(Seventh), 12 USC 371, 
and the OCC’s implementing regulations that the Georgia Fair Lending 
Act does not apply to National City.  The OCC has published notice 
of the request in the Federal Register, and invites interested 
parties to comment on the issues raised by National City’s request.  
Comments are due by Friday, March 28.
