TO:  Chief Executive Officers of All National Banks, Federal 
     Branches and Agencies, Department and Division Heads, and All 
     Examining Personnel

The attached final rule, which amends the OCC’s rules governing 
national bank assessments, was published in the Federal Register on 
October 9, 2002.  The final rule amends 12 CFR 8.2(a), which sets 
forth the formula for the semiannual assessment that the OCC 
charges each national bank.  The amendment corrects errors that 
occurred in the publication of the OCC’s recent final rules that 
revised that formula.
