NEW JERSEY SELLS ONE WINNING $250,000 TICKET
AS MEGA MILLIONS ROLLS TO $31 MILLION
Essex County Winner Joins Growing Ranks of NJ Mega Millions Winners
TRENTON, NJ – (November 5, 2008) – One lucky New Jersey Lottery player has won the Mega Millions second prize of $250,000 for the Friday, October 31 drawing. The winning ticket, which was sold in Essex County , was purchased at Veekay Inc., located at 1065 Springfield Avenue in Irvington.
“Congratulations to the Veekay Inc. ,” said the Lottery's Acting Executive Director William T. Jourdain. “ For selling this ticket, they will receive a bonus check for $500. They have become one of the Lottery's most recent ‘lucky locations' overnight.”
While there was no top-prize winner, 38,780 o ther New Jersey players took home $215,585 in prizes ranging from $2 to $10,000, according to Jourdain.
The winning numbers for the Friday, October 31 drawing were: 02, 07, 17, 29, and 47 and the Gold Mega Ball number was 40. With no winner of the top prize, the Mega Millions jackpot will roll to $31,000,000 for the next drawing, which will be held on Tuesday, November 4 at 11:00 pm on NJN-TV – the New Jersey Network.
