Washington DC, June 7, 2006 — National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) Chairman Phil Hogen approved a contract between the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma and Ellis Gaming June 6, 2006.
The Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma and Ellis Gaming Oklahoma Management, LLC, Management Agreement allows the Tribe and management company to operate the Kickapoo Casino owned by the Tribe located on Highway 62 in McCloud, Oklahoma. The Tribe also owns and operates the Kickapoo Conoco Station located next to the casino.
Under the agreement, the Tribe will construct an expansion of the Casino with new parking and related utilities. The Kickapoo Ellis management contract was received by the NIGC on June 21, 2005
Chairman Hogen said “the Kickapoo Tribe is following the rule and allowing the NIGC to review its management contract in accordance with IGRA. We are hopeful the Tribe will experience success in their gaming operation and continue to provide for their community.”
Chairman Hogen also approved a management contract between the Hopland Band of Pomo Indians and Ellis Gaming on June 6, 2006.
The NIGC is an independent regulatory agency established within the Department of the Interior pursuant to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988.
