The FTA website contains information on the agency’s various initiatives, grant programs, and news as well as access to relevant reports and data in the National Transit Library.

  • Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Demonstration Program
The national Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Program of the U.S. Department of Transportation aims to improve the safety and efficiency of surface transportation systems in the United States. The program seeks to incorporate technologies such as computers, electronics, communications and safety systems in transportation systems. The ITS program focuses on highways, transit, and rail, and thus serves as a partner to AoA in improving transportation options for the elderly. The program website provides useful information on the program, sources for assistance, and contact details to apply for demonstration funding.

  • National Rural Transit Assistance Program
