Alaska Wind Energy Applications Training Symposium (WEATS) Date: 8/13/2007 to 8/14/2007Location: Anchorage , AKPhone: 303-384-7021 BP Energy Center. The Wind Energy Applications Training Symposium (WEATS) is an internationally-acclaimed hands-on workshop on wind energy first launched in 1988. This Alaska-focused event will look at both large and small wind systems and will cover all aspects of wind applications. Through focused discussion, the symposium will allow the development of useful contacts and practical expertise that will help bring a wind energy project to fruition and ensure it operates successfully and profitably for years.
WEATS is designed as an introduction for project planners, developers, utility officials, engineers directly involved with energy projects, or those who are considering wind energy development and want to learn more about wind energy technology applications.
The symposium will provide participants with a strong introductory overview of wind technologies, resource assessment, project planning, the analytical tools for conducting project pre-feasibility and identification analysis, and the implementation of wind energy projects large and small. Participants learn from experts and business leaders about the capabilities of the technology, and about economic and financial aspects of sustainable project development.
The symposium is being held at the BP Energy Center off Benson and the New Seward Hwy in Anchorage, Alaska (PDF 430 KB) starting at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 13th, and ending at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14th, 2007.
