Background:
Assistant Secretary Carbonell will address national efforts to help Americans live longer, healthier lives by streamlining access to long-term supports, ensuring high quality care and services, emphasizing prevention as a key to improved longevity, and advancing consumer direction and choice. She will also discuss what the federal government is doing to assist individuals with Alzheimer’s disease as well as their family caregivers.
Alzheimer’s Community Care, Inc., is a Florida-based nonprofit organization founded in 1996 to provide specialized care to Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders patients and caregivers. ACC serves Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties. http://www.alzcare.org
The annual conference is one of the largest Alzheimer's caregiver conferences in the nation. The conference will also feature 240 feet of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America's "Quilt to Remember" as part of its national tour.
