Partners and EPA Contacts

EPA works with a wide range of organizations to upgrade the management of septic (onsite) systems. This collaboration between EPA headquarters, EPA regions, state and local governments and national organizations focuses on improving performance of systems to promote the protection of public health and water resources.

Partners

EPA signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2005 with 8 organizations to help communities improve their wastewater programs. The agreement focuses on better planning, septic system design, and long-term operation and maintenance of septic systems. Click here to view the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)(PDF, 9 pp, 276KB)
