Coastal Wind Energy Roundtable

The Coastal Wind Energy Roundtable will be held at the Skidaway Institute on Skidaway Island and will feature wind energy experts Walt Musial and Larry Flowers from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The event seeks to raise awareness, educate, and bring together interested parties from utilities, state and federal regulatory agencies, developer companies, universities, research institutes, local economic development agencies, public interest groups, and business and community associations on wind topics including:

  • Wind Technology/Development Issues
  • Offshore and onshore wind potential in coastal Georgia and the surrounding region
  • On-shore wind potential in Georgia
  • Potential Impacts and Permitting Procedures
  • Wind Policy Options

Attendees will have an opportunity to:

  • Learn about wind energy technology and its benefits;
  • Learn about best practices in promoting wind energy, including appropriate siting and policy;
  • Expand awareness of publicly available, local wind energy information;
  • Discuss questions about wind energy with field experts.

Southeast Green Power Summit

The second annual SE Green Power summit sought to educate utilities regulators, developers, and public interest agencies on strategies to deploy renewable energy in the region. This event attracted several hundred people from throughout the region who are impacted directly or indirectly by the existing or about to be rolled out green power programs in their respective states.
